The Story of "The Rose"

My family has a large rose bush in our back yard that surprisingly blooms every January. In January 2021, the roses bloomed on cue, and then it snowed. The roses were so beautiful. The dark pink with the forest green leaves in contrast with the snow. It really struck me how strong and resilient these roses were to bloom with such beauty in such harsh conditions. Of course we took a picture of the most beautiful rose on the bush, which is now the Comprehensive Breast Health logo! The roses on this bush were not affected by the cold, and when the weather had warmed to almost summer weather, two days later (as is often the case in Alabama), the roses were still as beautiful as ever. This resilience speaks to me.

This resilience is what I see in my patients. We cannot control the weather. We cannot control life’s circumstances. What each patient here at Comprehensive Breast Health can discover is how strong and resilient she or he really is. With the most up to date information, patient education, empathy, and with understanding, you will be surprised at how strong you are; how resilient you are.

I look forward to working with you soon.

Sincerely,

Anna M. Knight, MD
